TRAIN SERVICE FROM BANGKOK TO PATTAYA TO START IN MARCH
As part of the governments increasing efforts to encourage tourists to travel to the eastern seaboard the Pattaya City Authorities have teamed up with the Thai State Railways to start a new project to help transport tourists from the nation’s capital to Pattaya.
The trial project will see a three carriage fully air-conditioned train leave Bangkok at 6:30am arriving in Pattaya at 9am and depart Pattaya at 3:50pm arriving back in Bangkok at 6.50pm on Saturdays and Sundays starting from March.
The trial will provisionally run for 6 months to gauge the amount of interest generated from both foreign and Thai tourists.
It was reported that the price of a ticket will be economical but no exact amount has yet been stated.
The train is scheduled to make six stops along its journey, Sri Racha, North Pattaya, Four regions Floating Market, Nong Nuch Gardens, Wat Yan Temple and Phlu Ta Luang. DP
